Hi you have 64 bit drivers?? I,m running Win7 64 bit with my Alesis Multimix 16 usb2 plus cubase 5 and groove agent 3, can't get the desk to work though, will your drivers work with my system?
And if so can I please have a copy of these drivers? I,m new to all this forum stuff and recording from home stuff so please forgive me if I seem a little in experienced with my questions but any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Send me a PM with your e-mail and I will send them. I have been using for about a month and have been working fine.
Here's how they responded to my message to Alesis technical support regarding Windows 7 64 bit drivers for: (begin quote) Hello, Attached are our Beta drivers for 64 bit Windows for the Multimix USB 2.0. Since these are Beta drivers, there is limited support available since these are provided for testing purposes. However we are encouraging customers to share their feedback and experiences with us so we can further develop these. (end quote) While happy to get this message, my frustration with Alesis for taking so long has only slightly waned. I will think long and hard, and do a lot of research before upgrading with their products in the future. While I understand the need to be an informed consumer, is it too much to ask a company to keep up w/ the times. Taking over a year to develop these new drivers is ludicrous.

Under the hood of this affordable new Alesis compact mixer lurks an 18-in/two-out audio interface. Is it too good to be true? For the last few years, mixer manufacturers have been waking up to the fact that more and more recording musicians are working with computer-based studio systems, and have sought to simplify the interfacing between mixer and recorder to claim a share of this market — so USB- and Firewire-equipped mixers have been popping up like daisies. Alesis have already been responsible for a small posy on their own, starting with their original MultiMix USB range (offering stereo I/O) and expanding into their MultiMix Firewire range (with direct inputs to the computer from every mixer channel). The USB 2.0 range provides similar 24-bit multi-channel audio interfacing as on the Firewire models, but adds 88.1kHz and 96kHz sampling rates to their 44.1kHz and 48kHz rates. The requisite drivers are provided for both Mac OS 10.4 and Windows XP SP2 (WDM and ASIO). Two frame sizes are available in the range, of which the MultiMix 16 USB 2.0 under review here is the larger, offering 16 channels, eight mic preamps, built-in digital multi-effects, and 18-in/two-out interfacing.

Is there a limitation maybe? Click to expand Yeah, sure To be clear, I never need to record the main out; Alesis MultiMix 8/16 USB 2.0 interested in the individual channels, and any mix I might do in the hardware is probably not going to survive to any final mix I do to create a finished track.
Conversely, if I've used the mixer to do anything to the channels as they record, I've lost the ability to adjust them later, to one degree or another. Now that the installation is complete you may need to reset the computer which is always a good thing anyway.
However, even if you are working with a Mac, you should always check whether it is necessary to install drivers or the control panel of the peripheral that you intend to connect. This category of products includes direct audio connection cables for recording and reproduction of microphones or guitars to the computer via USB.
For example, Alesis Acoustic Link. See dedicated chapter.
As my followers know, musical production and DJing software and any other 'serious' audio application running on Windows requires an ASIO driver sound card. Another classic example is to use USB cables for your microphone or your guitar.
Once these have been installed they are recognised by the operating system as independent sound cards, the problem is that this sound card has only one input device. These are obviously stop-gap measures Alesis MultiMix 8/16 USB 2.0 are not advisable in professional settings where I recommend using a multi-channel sound card equipped with input and output devices that cover your requirements.
